EMDR changed the way I understood therapy—& ultimately changed the trajectory of my career.

In fact, I accidentally enrolled in my first EMDR Basic Training while I was still a master's student. At the time, I simply knew I wanted to better understand how the body (eyes) can be used in therapy. I had no idea that training would fundamentally change the way I viewed healing, relationships, and what it means to be an effective therapist.
I didn't set out to become an EMDR therapist.
EMDR gave me more than a new intervention—
it gave me an entirely new framework for understanding people. It shifted my perspective from asking, "What's wrong with this person?" to "What happened to this person, and how has their nervous system adapted to survive?" That trauma-informed lens continues to shape every aspect of my clinical work, supervision, consultation, and teaching today.
Since then, EMDR has become the foundation of both my clinical practice and my leadership. Every clinician at SOULFLO Therapy is EMDR trained because I believe trauma-informed care should not be the exception—it should be the standard. Whether we're working with complex trauma, grief, anxiety, attachment injuries, or personality adaptations, understanding the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) Model transforms how we conceptualize and support healing.
My goal is never to fit clients into EMDR.
My goal is to help therapists understand EMDR deeply enough that they can thoughtfully adapt the model to meet the unique needs, identities, cultures, strengths, and lived experiences of each client—while honoring the integrity of the therapy itself.
As a Vietnamese American therapist, clinical supervisor, educator, and advocate for equitable access to quality mental health care, I also recognize that advanced clinical training has not always been equally accessible. Too often, early-career clinicians, clinicians from historically marginalized communities, and those serving underserved populations encounter financial, structural, or professional barriers that limit opportunities for growth.
I believe the future of our profession depends on changing that.
As an EMDRIA Approved Consultant
I've had the privilege of supporting clinicians at many stages of their professional journey. Through consultation, I've discovered that what many therapists need isn't simply more information—they need a learning environment that is supportive, culturally responsive, clinically rigorous, and grounded in curiosity rather than perfection.
I believe consultation should do far more than satisfy EMDRIA requirements. It should deepen clinical thinking, strengthen confidence, encourage thoughtful case conceptualization, and help therapists understand EMDR well enough to use it flexibly while maintaining fidelity to the model.
This Training
Was intentionally designed to make high-quality EMDR education more accessible without compromising excellence. Whether you are a graduate student, associate, or newly licensed clinician, you deserve access to exceptional training, meaningful consultation, and a learning community that believes in your potential.
Learning EMDR is not about joining the latest clinical trend. It is about learning to see people differently.
It is about understanding how trauma shapes the nervous system, relationships, beliefs, and identity—and discovering how healing can occur when we honor the brain's innate capacity to process and integrate difficult experiences.
When therapists truly understand EMDR
When therapists truly understand EMDR—not simply the protocol, but the theory, the clinical decision-making, and the spirit behind the work—they don't just change their practice. They change lives.
And as more clinicians become grounded in trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and compassionate care, together we have the opportunity to change communities—and ultimately, the world.
I would be honored to be part of your journey.
